Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: May 11, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes uses of the Watari Service that are not permitted. It supplements the Terms of Service and is incorporated by reference. A breach of this AUP is a breach of the Terms.
1. Prohibited content
You must not submit, store, or transmit through the Service any content that:
- is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, hateful, obscene, or that promotes violence or self-harm;
- infringes any third party's intellectual property, trade secret, privacy, or publicity rights;
- contains personal information of third parties whose collection is not authorised by a valid legal basis (e.g. consent, contract, or legitimate interest under GDPR / DPDP);
- contains the special categories of personal data described in GDPR Article 9 (health, biometric, sexual orientation, religion, political opinion, genetic data, ethnic origin, or trade-union membership) without a separate lawful basis;
- contains payment-card data (PAN), credentials, or other material whose disclosure would create immediate financial harm. (Submit such data only via the Service's redaction-enabled flows where available.)
2. Prohibited AI uses
You must not use Watari, or content generated by Watari (“Outputs”), to:
- generate code that, when deployed, would be used to attack, compromise, or surveil third parties without their consent;
- generate root-cause analyses or customer communications that you know to be materially false or misleading;
- attempt to extract the system prompts, training data, or internal heuristics of the underlying language models, or to jailbreak provider guardrails;
- generate content that misrepresents the AI-generated nature of Outputs to your end users (in violation of EU AI Act Article 50 deployer transparency, where applicable);
- use Outputs to make consequential decisions about identifiable individuals (employment, credit, housing, insurance, immigration, criminal justice, or similar) without independent human review and supervision;
- input prompts designed to elicit illegal content (CSAM, credible threats, instructions for weapons of mass destruction, etc.). Watari and its AI subprocessors maintain abuse-detection controls; violating attempts may trigger automatic suspension.
3. Service integrity
You must not:
- attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise discover the source code, models, or underlying algorithms of the Service, except to the limited extent applicable law expressly permits;
- use the Service to develop a competing product or to benchmark against the Service for the purpose of building a competing offering;
- attempt to overload, denial-of-service, or otherwise interfere with the Service or the systems of any subprocessor;
- access the Service or its API at a rate or pattern designed to circumvent published or implied rate limits;
- scrape, mirror, or systematically copy material from the Service or our marketing site beyond what is permitted by our
robots.txt; - probe, scan, or test the security of the Service or any connected system without prior written authorisation (see our Security page for the responsible-disclosure process);
- use the Service to send unsolicited bulk communications.
4. Compliance with law
You must use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws, including data-protection, export-control, sanctions, and anti-corruption laws. You will not use the Service if you are located in, or are a national or resident of, a country subject to comprehensive trade sanctions administered by the UN, US OFAC, or the European Union.
5. Account & identity
You must not impersonate any person or entity, misrepresent your affiliation, share account credentials between users not covered by the same subscription, or create accounts by automated means (other than the documented self-service signup).
6. Enforcement
Watari may investigate suspected violations of this AUP. We may, in our reasonable discretion: (a) request that you remove the offending content or stop the offending activity; (b) suspend access to the Service in whole or in part; (c) terminate your account in accordance with the Terms; (d) cooperate with law-enforcement authorities where required by law.
Where the violation is not material, ongoing, or harmful, we will generally provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure before suspending or terminating the Service.
7. Reporting abuse
To report a suspected violation of this AUP — whether by a Watari customer or by content visible through the Service — email abuse-reports@watari.ai. Include the URL or other identifier of the offending content, a description of the violation, and how to reach you for follow-up.
8. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes are notified by email to the registered owner of each Organisation at least 30 days before they take effect.
