Watari vs Linear Agent for support tickets
Both read customer conversations and file issues. Linear Agent stops at a clean issue in Linear. Watari keeps going into your repository, and still files the issue in Linear.
The short answer
Linear Agent is the simplest way to turn Zendesk and Intercom conversations into well-written, deduplicated Linear issues, and it comes with Linear's Business plan. Watari covers the same intake, then locates the bug in your code, drafts a pull request and tells the customer when the fix is live. Since Watari files into Linear, teams that want the code step can use both.

What Linear Agent does well
Linear Agent reads a support conversation, including attachments, and files one or more Linear issues with a concise summary and screenshots. Duplicate requests are merged into existing issues so the backlog stays clean, and closing the issue can reopen the Zendesk or Intercom ticket for a follow-up. If your team lives in Linear and pays for Business already, it costs nothing extra.
The step it leaves to your engineers
A clean issue still has to be picked up, reproduced and traced to the code. Linear Agent does not look at your repository. That trace is where engineering time goes on any codebase large enough that nobody holds all of it in their head.
Watari connects to GitHub or Azure DevOps, ranks the files and functions most likely involved, and drafts a pull request when it is confident enough to. The Linear issue it files carries that context, so whoever picks it up starts from a location and a proposed diff rather than a description.
What Watari does not do
Watari supports Zendesk, Intercom and Freshdesk on the support side, and GitHub or Azure DevOps (cloud) for code. GitLab and Bitbucket are not supported yet, and Jira filing is Jira Cloud only.
Watari is not a project tracker. Planning, cycles and roadmaps stay in Linear.
Which to choose
Linear Agent is enough if
- You are on Linear Business and want tidy, deduplicated issues.
- Engineers pick up issues and find the code quickly.
- An agent triggering it per conversation fits your workflow.
Add Watari if
- Reproducing and locating bugs is the slow part.
- You want a draft fix waiting, not just a description.
- You use Freshdesk, Jira or Azure DevOps alongside or instead of Linear.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Watari with Linear?
Yes. Linear is one of Watari's filing destinations, so mapped bugs arrive in the Linear team you choose with the code locations and draft PR attached.
Does Watari need Linear Agent turned off?
No, but running both on the same tickets would file each bug twice. Most teams pick one to file issues and let the other stay off for those conversations.
Does Watari push code to our repository?
It opens draft pull requests for your engineers to review. It never merges, and every change it authors is scanned for credentials before it is pushed.

Your next support ticket arrives as a draft PR.
Connect Zendesk, Intercom, or Freshdesk, then GitHub or Azure DevOps. Tickets land mapped to the file, function, and line, ready for your reviewer to take over.
